Radiation boost tested to help more stomach cancer patients survive surgery

NCT ID NCT03013010

Summary

This study tested whether adding radiation therapy to chemotherapy before surgery works better than chemotherapy alone for people with locally advanced stomach cancer. Researchers wanted to see if this combined approach helps patients live longer without their cancer returning. The trial involved 204 patients who were healthy enough for major surgery and aggressive treatment.
