Can clinic rules plus training break down barriers to addiction care?
NCT ID NCT06200012
Summary
This small pilot study tested whether adding a clinic-wide policy change to standard staff training could better reduce stigma and improve care for people with substance use disorders in mental health clinics. Researchers compared two clinics: one where providers only received training, and another where they received training plus a new organizational policy. The goal was to see if the combined approach led to more patients having their substance use addressed, starting medication treatment, and staying in care.
