New 'Sticky Bone' technique aims to better repair cleft palate defects
NCT ID NCT07066293
Summary
This small study tested a new surgical method to repair bone gaps in the upper jaw caused by a cleft palate. Ten patients over age 12 received a graft made from their own blood components and bone material, covered with a special membrane to aid healing. Doctors followed patients for nine months to see how well the new bone filled the gap and healed.
