Kenya trial tests two antibiotic strategies to stop silent STI spread

NCT ID NCT06468462

Summary

This study aims to find the best way to prevent common sexually transmitted infections (STIs) like gonorrhea and chlamydia among men who have sex with men in Kenya, where testing is often unavailable. It will compare two antibiotic approaches—taking medicine every three months versus taking a single dose after sex—against the current standard of care. The results will help create better guidelines to control STIs in Kenya and similar settings.
