First seen Nov 19, 2025 · Last updated May 02, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study tests two ways to prevent sexually transmitted infections (STIs) like gonorrhea, chlamydia, and syphilis in cisgender men who have sex with men in Kenya. About 2,900 participants will receive either periodic treatment as recommended by the WHO or a doxycycline pill after sex, and their infection rates will be compared over 18 months. The goal is to find the best approach for STI control in settings where regular testing is not available.
