Race to cut deaths from 'Opportunistic' pneumonia in vulnerable patients

Summary

This study aims to see if adding steroid medication to standard care can help people with weakened immune systems survive a severe type of pneumonia called PJP. It will enroll 240 critically ill adults who do not have HIV. Researchers will test different steroid doses to find the safest and most effective way to reduce deaths from this infection.
