Race to save lives: steroids tested against deadly virus pneumonia

NCT ID NCT07152600

Summary

This study aims to see if adding steroid medication to standard hospital care can help more adults survive severe pneumonia caused by the adenovirus. It will test different steroid doses in 262 critically ill patients who are already in the ICU with this dangerous lung infection. The main goal is to lower the death rate, as this type of pneumonia currently has very high mortality and no specific antiviral treatment in China.
