Can common steroids heal COVID's lasting lung scars?
NCT ID NCT07380152
Summary
This study tested whether a common steroid pill (prednisolone) could help people with lasting lung scarring and breathing problems after a severe COVID-19 infection. One hundred adults who still had abnormal lung scans and reduced lung function at least 12 weeks after their COVID-19 diagnosis were randomly assigned to receive either the steroid or a placebo pill for one month. Researchers measured changes in lung scans, breathing tests, and quality of life over several months to see if the steroid treatment led to better recovery.
