Major stroke trial tests if steroid shot to brain boosts recovery

NCT ID NCT07141303

Summary

This large study is testing if adding a steroid drug (methylprednisolone) directly into the artery and through an IV after a successful stroke clot removal procedure helps patients recover better. It will involve 1060 adults who have had a major stroke due to a large blocked artery in the brain. The goal is to see if this treatment reduces brain swelling, improves functional outcomes, and is safe compared to a placebo.
