New strategy aims to get patients off harmful steroids faster
NCT ID NCT05636501
Summary
This study is testing a structured, nurse-led plan to reduce and stop steroid medication in people newly diagnosed with polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR). It compares this planned approach to the usual care from a general practitioner. The goal is to see if the structured plan helps patients stop steroids within a year while still controlling their disease and reducing harmful side effects.
