First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether a 6-day course of oral steroids after orthopedic surgery can help reduce pain, nausea, and improve movement. About 500 adults having common surgeries like joint replacement or fracture repair will be randomly assigned to receive either standard care or standard care plus the steroid taper. The goal is to see if the extra steroids lead to better recovery.
