Steroid-Free nausea control: new hope for chemo patients?

NCT ID NCT05590923

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study compared two standard drugs—olanzapine and dexamethasone—for preventing nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy. Researchers wanted to see if olanzapine could work as well as the steroid dexamethasone, potentially allowing patients to avoid steroid side effects. The trial enrolled 24 adults starting their first round of high-risk chemotherapy, but it was ended early.
