Asthma steroids linked to bone loss and diabetes risk in major study

NCT ID NCT06279078

Summary

This study looked back at the health records of nearly 20,000 adults with asthma to understand the long-term effects of steroid medications. Researchers compared patients who took higher doses of steroids over time with those who took lower doses. They wanted to see if higher steroid use was connected to weaker bones (osteoporosis) and other health problems like diabetes and high cholesterol.
