First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study tested whether injecting a steroid directly into the spinal disc can reduce pain in people with chronic low back pain and a specific type of disc inflammation called Modic I. 137 adults with persistent pain for at least 3 months received the injection. The main goal was to see if pain levels dropped below 40 on a 0-100 scale after 1 month, with follow-up at 12 months.
