First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study tested whether adding a steroid to the numbing medicine (lidocaine) can reduce pain, swelling, and jaw stiffness after wisdom tooth removal. Twenty-five adults with similar impacted wisdom teeth on both sides of their jaw participated. Each person received the standard numbing medicine on one side and the steroid mix on the other, allowing a direct comparison. The goal was to see if the steroid helps with recovery after surgery.
