Higher steroid dose tested to ease agony of kidney stents

NCT ID NCT06930690

Summary

This study is testing if a higher dose of a common steroid (dexamethasone) can better reduce pain and bothersome urinary symptoms people often get after kidney stone surgery when a temporary internal tube, called a stent, is placed. Researchers will compare a high dose to a standard dose given during surgery in 70 adults. The main goal is to see if the higher dose improves patients' quality of life and comfort in the first few days after their procedure.
