Trial challenges 3-Week steroid rule for deadly pneumonia
NCT ID NCT07328984
Summary
This study aims to find the best length of steroid treatment for adults with weakened immune systems who have a severe lung infection called PCP. It will compare stopping steroids after 10 days (if the patient has recovered enough) to the standard 21-day course. The goal is to see if the shorter treatment reduces side effects like new infections or diabetes complications without making the pneumonia come back.
