New surgical tape may reduce need for pain pills after heart surgery
NCT ID NCT07215546
Summary
This study looks back at hospital records to see if using a special surgical tape called Montage during chest closure after heart surgery helps patients need less strong pain medication (like opioids) after their operation. Researchers will compare pain medication use in about 150 patients who had the new tape to similar patients who had traditional closure methods. The goal is to understand if this device can help manage post-surgery pain with fewer opioids.
