Summary
This study compared two exercise programs to see which is better for improving cholesterol levels in sedentary women with overweight or obesity. Forty-five women were randomly assigned to either step aerobics or core exercises for 60 minutes, four days a week, over 16 weeks. The research found that step aerobics was particularly effective at improving the type of cholesterol linked to heart disease risk.
