First seen May 21, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looked at how two types of aerobic exercise—step-ups and running—affect heart fitness, leg strength, and recovery in men who don't exercise. Thirty-six sedentary men aged 18-40 either did step-ups, ran on a treadmill, or remained inactive for six weeks. The goal was to see which exercise improves cardiovascular health and leg strength more, without any treatment or cure involved.
