Could less dialysis at first be better? new trial aims to find out
NCT ID NCT06642597
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether starting peritoneal dialysis (a home-based treatment for kidney failure) at a low dose and gradually increasing it can improve patients' quality of life compared to the standard full-dose approach. About 224 adults new to dialysis will take part. The goal is to see if a slower start reduces symptoms and preserves remaining kidney function.
