First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study tests whether placing stents in non-blocking but vulnerable plaques, along with intensive drug therapy, reduces heart-related events more than drugs alone. About 2,190 adults with acute coronary syndrome will be randomly assigned to one of two groups. The goal is to see if the extra procedure prevents future heart attacks, chest pain, or the need for repeat procedures.
