Brain stent trial aims to save sight from skull pressure

NCT ID NCT05707442

Summary

This study is testing whether implanting a small stent to open a narrowed vein in the brain is better than standard medication at protecting vision in people with a condition that causes dangerously high pressure inside the skull. It will enroll 74 adults who have had this condition for over two months and have a specific type of vein narrowing. Patients will be randomly assigned to receive either the stent procedure or medication, and their vision and other symptoms will be tracked for six months.
