Decade-Long heart study aims to settle stent vs. meds debate
NCT ID NCT06908499
Summary
This study will follow patients for at least 10 years to see which long-term approach is better for a completely blocked heart artery: implanting a drug-coated stent or using optimal medication alone. It aims to find out which treatment leads to fewer major heart problems, strokes, or deaths over a very long period. The trial will enroll 840 adults with a specific type of long-standing blockage who have symptoms or signs of reduced blood flow to the heart.
