New hope for patients too sick for open heart surgery
NCT ID NCT07405242
Summary
This study is testing a less invasive stent procedure for patients with a dangerous tear in their main heart artery (aortic dissection) who are too high-risk for traditional open surgery. It will follow 149 patients aged 65 and older for one year to see if the stent is safe and effective at controlling the tear. The goal is to provide a treatment option for patients who currently have very few.
