Tiny stent trial aims to save legs from amputation

NCT ID NCT03477604

Summary

This study is testing whether adding a small metal mesh tube (stent) to a standard artery-opening procedure works better than the procedure alone for people with severe leg artery disease. Researchers are comparing two approaches in 177 participants with poor blood flow to their lower legs. The goal is to see if the stent helps keep arteries open longer and reduces the need for amputations.
