Custom stent trial aims to tame 'Hostile' aortic bulges

NCT ID NCT05609539

Summary

This study tested a specially designed stent-graft to treat dangerous bulges in the body's main artery (abdominal aortic aneurysms) in patients whose kidney arteries branch off in a challenging, mismatched pattern. Doctors wanted to see if this custom device could create a better seal than standard stents, potentially reducing leaks and the need for repeat procedures. They followed 50 patients for up to 5 years after the procedure to check how well the stent worked and if it was safe.
