First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study tested whether adding umbilical cord stem cells to standard steroid treatment helps control acute graft-versus-host disease (aGVHD), a serious complication after a bone marrow transplant. 26 people who developed grade II-IV aGVHD received the stem cell infusion alongside usual care. The goal was to see if this combination improves response rates and survival without increasing risks.
