Stem cell shot tested to help stroke patients walk and talk again

NCT ID NCT06129175

Summary

This study is testing whether an infusion of stem cells from donated umbilical cords can help people recover better after a recent stroke. It will involve 80 adults who had a moderate to severe stroke and are not eligible for standard clot-busting treatments. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the stem cell treatment or a placebo, and researchers will track their ability to perform daily activities and their level of disability over one year.
