Breakthrough stem cell trial aims to restore movement after spinal injury
NCT ID NCT06974968
Summary
This study is testing whether a lab-made stem cell product called XS228 can help repair nerve damage and improve movement in people with recent spinal cord injuries. About 60 adults with injuries that occurred 2-12 weeks ago will receive either the stem cell injection or a placebo solution into their spinal fluid. Researchers will monitor participants for one year to see if the treatment improves leg and arm function, sensation, and bladder control compared to the placebo.
