Personal stem cells tested to fight Parkinson's decline

NCT ID NCT04928287

Summary

This study tested whether injections of a patient's own banked stem cells could help control the symptoms of Parkinson's disease. It was a small, Phase 2 trial where 24 participants with early to moderate Parkinson's were randomly assigned to receive either the stem cell treatment or a placebo. The main goal was to see if the treatment improved daily movement tasks and was safe over nearly a year of follow-up.
