Experimental stem cell injection aims to halt kidney damage in diabetes

Summary
This study is testing whether an injection of stem cells from umbilical cords can help people with progressive diabetic kidney disease. Researchers want to see if the treatment, called Amimestrocel, can improve kidney function and reduce protein in the urine. The trial will enroll about 120 adults to evaluate the treatment's safety and effectiveness.
