Frontline workers get stem cell shots in bid to block COVID
NCT ID NCT04348435
Summary
This study tested whether five infusions of donor stem cells could help prevent COVID-19 in people at very high risk of exposure, like healthcare workers and first responders. Fifty-three participants who showed no signs of infection received either the stem cell treatment or a placebo. Researchers measured whether the treatment reduced the number of people who developed COVID-19 symptoms or needed hospitalization.
