Summary

This study tested whether stem cells from donors could help patients with severe COVID-19 lung failure. Twenty hospitalized patients were randomly assigned to receive either the stem cell treatment or a placebo, along with standard hospital care. Researchers measured whether the treatment improved patients' breathing and recovery over 28 days and tracked their health for a full year.
