Could your own fat cells help heal your brain?

NCT ID NCT05951777

Summary

This study is testing whether stem cells taken from a patient's own body fat are safe and might help improve brain health and function in people with long-term traumatic brain injury. About 51 adults who have had a brain injury for more than 6 months will receive three infusions of their own processed stem cells or a placebo over six weeks. Researchers will use brain scans and thinking tests to see if the treatment reduces brain inflammation and helps with recovery.
