Suicide gene stem cells target deadly brain tumor after surgery

NCT ID NCT07143812

Summary

This early-stage trial is testing a new type of stem cell treatment for people with a newly diagnosed, aggressive brain cancer called glioblastoma. The stem cells are modified to carry a 'suicide gene' and are injected directly into the brain after surgery. The main goal is to see if this approach is safe and to find the right dose, with the hope that it can target leftover cancer cells and delay the tumor's return.
