Stem cell shots tested as lifeline for failing livers

NCT ID NCT06242405

Summary

This study tested whether giving patients with end-stage liver disease one or two infusions of stem cells from umbilical cords could improve their liver function. Researchers enrolled 92 patients and measured key liver health markers over 24 weeks to see if more frequent treatment was better. The goal was to see if this approach could help control the disease and improve outcomes.
