New stem cell transplant could help kids beat blood cancer with fewer side effects
NCT ID NCT03431090
First seen Apr 08, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study is for children with blood cancers or bone marrow disorders who need a stem cell transplant but don't have a perfectly matched donor. It tests a new method using a partially matched family donor, where certain immune cells are removed from the donated cells to help the new cells grow faster and lower the risk of graft-versus-host disease (a serious side effect). About 20 children will take part to see if this approach improves recovery and reduces complications.
