New filtered cell transplant aims to cut graft vs host disease risk

NCT ID NCT06034535

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tests a new way to do stem cell transplants for people with serious blood disorders who don't have a fully matched donor. Doctors will use a special filter to remove certain cells from the donor's blood before giving it to the patient, hoping to lower the risk of graft-versus-host disease (where donor cells attack the patient's body). About 23 participants will be followed for one year to see if this approach improves survival and reduces complications.
