New transplant approach aims to rebuild immune system in SCID patients

NCT ID NCT04370795

Summary

This study aimed to test a stem cell transplant procedure for people with Severe Combined Immune Deficiency (SCID), a condition where the immune system doesn't work. The goal was to see if a specific combination of drugs, with or without radiation given before the transplant, could help patients' bodies accept donor cells and rebuild their immune systems. The study was designed for children and adults aged 3-40 with SCID who had a suitable donor, but it was withdrawn before any participants were enrolled.
