New hope for kids with 'Bubble Boy' diseases using safer donor transplants

NCT ID NCT02990819

Summary

This study is testing a modified stem cell transplant procedure for children and young adults with life-threatening immune system disorders. It uses a special processing method on stem cells from partially matched family donors or unrelated donors to reduce complications. The main goal is to see if patients' bodies will accept these donor cells and rebuild a working immune system.
