New hope for blood cancer patients without a perfect donor match

NCT ID NCT03850366

Summary

This study is testing a modified stem cell transplant procedure for adults with blood cancers who do not have a perfectly matched donor. It uses a partially matched (haploidentical) family donor and adds a drug called bortezomib to the standard regimen. The main goal is to see how well the donor's cells take hold (engraft) and to reduce the risk of a serious complication called graft-versus-host disease.
