Double stem cell transplant shows promise for rare blood disorder

NCT ID NCT07499284

First seen Apr 20, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study tests a new way to treat aplastic anemia, a serious condition where the bone marrow stops making enough blood cells. Researchers are combining a parent's half-matched stem cells with umbilical cord blood to see if this helps the body accept the transplant better and lowers the risk of complications. The trial will enroll 224 patients aged 14 and older across multiple centers.
