New care strategies aim to help frail patients survive and thrive after risky transplants

NCT ID NCT03870750

Summary

This study tested different supportive care approaches to help older or frail patients with blood diseases recover better after a donor stem cell transplant. Researchers compared symptom-focused care, management of other health conditions, a combination of both, and standard care alone. The goal was to see which approach best improved patients' quality of life and chances of survival after this intensive treatment.
