Stem cell Follow-Up study tests safety for tough Crohn's cases

NCT ID NCT01233960

Summary

This study tested the safety of giving additional stem cell infusions to people with moderate-to-severe Crohn's disease who had already received an initial round of treatment. The 73 participants received three extra infusions over several months to see if continuing treatment was safe and helped control their disease. Researchers monitored side effects while checking if symptoms improved and quality of life got better.
