Personalized stem cell shot tested to heal failing hearts
NCT ID NCT06154044
Summary
This small, early-phase study is testing whether a personalized stem cell therapy can help the heart muscle recover in people with severe, chronic heart failure. The 10 participants all have a mechanical heart pump (LVAD) implanted. Researchers will collect a patient's own stem cells and inject them directly into the heart muscle two months after LVAD surgery, then monitor heart function and symptoms for six months to see if it is safe and helps the heart get stronger.
