Your own cells as a shield? trial tests stem cells to block COVID
NCT ID NCT04349631
Summary
This study tested whether five infusions of a person's own stored stem cells could help prevent COVID-19 by supporting the immune system. It enrolled 51 high-risk adults, including those over 65, healthcare workers, or people with underlying health conditions. The main goals were to see if the treatment was safe and if it reduced hospitalizations or symptoms of COVID-19.
