Scientists test Lab-Grown heart cells in patients with severe heart defects

NCT ID NCT05647213

Summary

This is an early-stage safety study testing whether heart cells grown in a lab from a patient's own skin are safe to give to adults with severe congenital heart disease and heart failure. The study will enroll 50 participants who are not eligible for or are waiting too long for a heart transplant. Researchers will monitor participants closely for safety issues and to see if making and delivering these personalized cells is practical.
