Lab-Grown heart patch offers new hope for failing hearts

NCT ID NCT04396899

Summary

This trial is testing a new treatment for severe heart failure where a patch of lab-grown heart muscle, made from human stem cells, is surgically attached to the patient's weakened heart. The goal is to see if this 'biological patch' can help the heart pump better and improve patients' symptoms and quality of life. It is for patients with advanced heart failure who have no other realistic option for a heart transplant.
