Summary
This early-stage trial is testing the safety of a new procedure for advanced dry macular degeneration, a leading cause of vision loss. Researchers take a small blood sample from a patient, turn those cells into new retinal cells in a lab, and then transplant them back into the patient's eye. The main goal is to see if this personalized cell transplant is safe and feasible, with the hope it could one day slow or stop disease progression.
